The Edmonton Track and Field Council is the central governing body for Track and Field activities in the Greater Edmonton Area. We oversee and support all clubs, coaches, athletes, volunteers and training facilities. We support the development and growth of the sport of Track and Field in the City of Edmonton Alberta. We want to see the sport of Track and Field in Edmonton grow and all participants acheive their best.

Workshop: Mental Skill Progressions

This session will focus on using developmentally appropriate mental skills based on the LTAD stages. Coaches will explore the progressions of Goal setting, Self-talk, Focus, and Energy management through the developmental age ranges from Fundamentals to Train to Train. Practice environments will be the main context of the discussion, although competitive suggestions will be offered. This will be a practical session where coach interaction is highly valued and encouraged. Coaches should bring an outline of their typical practice activities to help integrate the information as it is discussed.
